Jeanette McDevitt – Practice Manager
Jeanette’s role as Practice Manager is constantly varied and provides the busyness that she thrives on. Whether it be the initial inception and layout of our current office in 2004 or the organising and overseeing of the firm’s IT requirements – all play out in her normal working day.
Her many years’ experience in accounting, including roles in large Clubs and Practice Manager of an accounting firm, has provided her with the practical skills and expertise to oversee all accounting practices within the firm and ensuring compliance with government and industry regulations.
The smooth running of the office is her aim and every detail is considered. She looks after the marketing for Family Law Solutions and enjoys a variety of interactions within the community. Combined with total regard for client privacy and confidentiality the streamlined efficiency of the office is a task she enjoys.
Francene Cartaar – Administrative Assistant

Francene, as a member of the FLS team, regards client service and open communication as paramount – coupled with an orderly file. A sense of humour on those trying days is definitely a bonus too.
Her background is primarily in law for over 20 years with her first job being for a group of barristers in suburban Sydney. This provided solid grounding and learning and led to later working for a national law firm in Sydney and Canberra.
She is the front person on reception and also provides administrative support to our lawyers. All of these tasks are wholeheartedly undertaken by her.
Kristen Damerau – Administrative Assistant
As the most recent recruitment to the FLS team Kristen is enjoying being back on the Far North Coast after working for law offices in the Newcastle area.
She is currently providing full-time administrative support to Chris and Georgina. Her Certificate III in Business Administration (Legal Studies) coupled with her experience is a definite bonus in this busy practice.
Kristen provides administrative support on a variety of files from complex financial matters, to parenting issues and divorce matters. She also has experience with Wills and Probate.
“My working day is varied and I just love a creative task – whether it be a new document or form or even decorating the yellow rubber duck for the FLS entrant in the Rotary charity event in October. You will have an opportunity to hear my cheery voice when I ring you about your matter.”
Susan Meads – Accounts and Compliance Clerk
“Well here I am in Australia after emigrating from the UK in 2004 – perhaps I am nearly considered a local!”
Susan enjoys figures and accounting and the large international firms she has worked for in the UK have held her in good stead for work in a legal office. She understand the trials and tribulations of business. Susan recognises records and efficient accounting practices are crucial for the smooth running of a legal office.
